Start at the right level
Tell us whether you are a complete beginner or have studied before, and what you want to achieve. We will guide you towards an appropriate level, timetable and learning arrangement.
Fees and lesson planning
Ask us for the current fee, duration and available timetable for this programme before you book.
Assessment and completion
Teslak uses Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) and Random Assessment Tests (RATs) to monitor progress and identify areas needing support. Learners complete the applicable end-of-course assessment. Successful learners receive a Teslak Certificate of Completion. For standard local programmes, these assessments and the Teslak certificate are included in the course fee.
External examination guidance
For Mandarin Chinese, the relevant pathway is HSK; age- or purpose-appropriate Chinese examinations. We guide learners to the appropriate external examination and assist with booking and registration. External examination fees, eligibility, dates and test-centre arrangements are separate and determined by the examining body.
Before you enrol
Are Chinese and Mandarin classes the same programme at Teslak?
Teslak teaches Mandarin Chinese, with HSK 1, HSK 2, HSK 3 and HSK 4 course levels. Ask about beginner study or placement if you have studied before. External HSK examination booking, fees and requirements are separate from course registration.
Where can I take Mandarin Chinese lessons?
Teslak offers Mandarin Chinese lessons at PAMKI House, 1st Floor, Kimathi Street, Nyeri, near Safaricom Customer Care, with live online and hybrid study options. Confirm the current class timetable before enrolling.
Can I start Mandarin Chinese as a complete beginner?
Yes. Tell us whether you are a beginner or have studied before. Our team will guide you to a suitable starting class or assessment; your goals and current ability determine the appropriate level.
What are the fees and duration for Mandarin Chinese?
Use the course fee calculator to select your programme and level. Ask the office to confirm your teaching hours, instalments and start date. Private lessons, intensive arrangements and international learner quotations may differ from standard local programmes.
Does the course include the official HSK; age- or purpose-appropriate Chinese examinations examination?
Teslak provides learning and assessment and can guide you on HSK; age- or purpose-appropriate Chinese examinations. Official external examination fees, eligibility and test-centre arrangements are separate. A Teslak completion certificate is distinct from an official external examination certificate.
